JetBlue launched the first scheduled commercial US flight to Cuba in 55 years from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Abel Santamaría Airport in Santa Clara, Wednesday.

Passengers of the inaugural flight were greeted with food and coffee at the gate before boarding Wednesday morning, where local politicians and US and Cuban dignitaries made short speeches touting the historical event.
