Junggye – The Place I Currently Call Home

For the last year and some change I’ve neglected to capture and share the area that I see everyday, my little neighborhood called Junggye-dong in Nowon-gu, located in the Northeast of the capital Seoul.

So I decided to take advantage of a beautiful fall day and go down to the little stream a few blocks away from my apartment with camera in hand.

Here are the results.

Thank you Tey for sharing. What an amazing experience.

  3. Reminds me a lot like where I currently reside in Gimpo, South Korea. Cool Post!

Hi, I’m heading out there in February to start teaching and have to find housing. Can you estimate what the average officetel prices are in Junggye? Are they mostly loft-style?

  5. There is both loft style and regular apartment style, but for just one person a loft apartment is more than enough. I’m not sure exactly how much it costs monthly because my company pays for my apartment but I have heard the average is about 500,000 – 600,000 Won a month, which is roughly $500 -$600. That’s without electric, cable and gas. I made a little video of my apartment for my friends and family and posted it on YouTube. If you’re interested you can check it out to give you an idea of what a typical loft apartment here looks like. The link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmjvlCO8cbc
